Job summary

Dayspring of Miami Valley in Fairborn, OH is seeking a full-time dayshift cook to prepare and cook meals for residents in a skilled nursing facility.

The cook will follow recipes and production instructions, help with cleaning and serving meals, and may take on related tasks as assigned by the dietary supervisor or Executive Chef. Pay ranges from $13.50 to $22.00 per hour, depending on certifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in working with patients and food service
• Ability to read, write and follow written and oral directions
• Ability to cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
• Ability to follow recipes and menus, especially therapeutic diets
• Ability to work under pressure at peak periods
• Willingness to follow instructions as given
• Basic knowledge of quantity food preparation and cooking beneficial
• Ability to estimate relative quantities of food per written recipes

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks the residents’ food
• Ensures the food is prepared correctly and in the quantities ordered
• Maintains clean working environments following food handling guidelines
• Assists with the Food Service Assistant position by serving food and cleaning tables
• Completes other duties when not cooking/preparing food
• Follows health regulations by the public health department

Facility is currently looking for Full Time dayshift cook. Come join our team as a Cook in our state of the art skilled nursing facility. The cook prepares food in quantities enough for patient meals, including special foods as necessary for therapeutic diets. The cook will follow the prepared menu as written, utilizing recipes and production instructions. In addition, the cook will assist as needed with cleaning and serving of meals. The cook may also be assigned related tasks and duties by the dietary supervisor or Executive Chef.

$13.50 To $22.00 an hour, depending on certifications and experience!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
