Job summary

St. Joseph's Living Center is seeking a Cook to join our dietary team. The role offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus and a full-time schedule with shifts from 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM or 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Compensation is $21.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience. Responsibilities include preparing meals per menus and therapeutic diets, reviewing menus, ensuring safety and sanitation, and collaborating with the dietitian and care staff to support resident

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1+ year experience as a Cook in a commercial setting.
• Serv Safe Managers Certificate or can obtain shortly after starting.
• Prior experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
• Ability to function both independently and as a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English - both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Review menus before food preparation, ensure ingredients and supplies are available for upcoming meals, and help maintain a clean, organized food storage area.
• Follow all safety regulations, infection control practices, and sanitary procedures throughout food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the dietitian and interdisciplinary team, including CNAs, to implement dietary recommendations and support quality resident care.
