Job summary

Samaritan's Purse in Boone, NC seeks a Prep Cook to join the Food Services team. The role involves preparing and serving food per approved menus, stocking supplies, and upholding food safety standards.

• Ability to pass Samaritan's Purse Food Services Advancement Test Level I is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food according to approved menus and standardized recipes, while keeping waste to a minimum.
• Put away stock delivered by food service vendors. Ensure proper dating, rotation, and storage.
• Monitor food quality using Food Safe methods as directed. Apply correct cooking temperatures.
• Maintain the kitchen, eating and service areas, storage areas, and cooler/freezer facilities in a clean and orderly manner.
• Other duties as assigned

In the role ofPrep Cook,you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
• Prepare and serve food according to approved menus and standardized recipes, while keeping waste to a minimum.
• Apply basic food preparation techniques and terminology.
• Put away stock delivered by food service vendors. Ensure proper dating, rotation, and storage.
• Monitor food quality using Food Safe methods as directed. Apply correct cooking temperatures.
• Maintain the kitchen, eating and service areas, storage areas, and cooler/freezer facilities in a clean and orderly manner. Sweep and mop floors.
• Other duties as assigned
