Job summary

Southview Acres Health Care Center is a Residential Health Care Facility seeking a Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience in cooking, enjoys a busy environment, and can take direction well while multitasking.

Responsibilities include following the Dietary Manager's directions, preparing meals per facility recipes, rotating stocks, and maintaining cleanliness and food safety throughout shifts. A strong English background and high school level education are expected.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate reads and follows standardized recipes.
• Three years of food service experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English effectively to use recipes, prepare meals and communicate.
• Serv-Safe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to and follow directions from Dietary Manager.
• Maintain accurate food counts.
• Prep meals following Facility Recipes.
• Rotate stock items as per procedures.
• Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift.
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures and by following food, health, and safety procedures.
• Prepares items to be used for next day's meals.
• Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts.

The ideal candidate for this position has previous cooking experience, enjoys working in a busy environment and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively.
