Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking dependable and experienced Cooks to join our dietary team. The Cook will prepare and serve nutritious, appealing meals while following established menus, recipes, portion controls, and special dietary requirements.

Responsibilities include preparing meals according to planned menus, ensuring timely service, and adhering to food safety and sanitation procedures.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking experience in healthcare, nursing home, or institutional settings.
• Able to prepare a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Able to understand and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation procedures.
• Willingness to learn and implement new food service methods and practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to planned menus and recipes.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets and special diets.
• Ensure meals are palatable, appetizing, and served on time.
• Follow established portion-control procedures.
• Prepare and provide bedtime snacks.
• Ensure residents receive utensils and equipment with their meal trays.
• Prepare approved substitute meals for residents who refuse menu items.
• Assist with meal service and food preparation for special events and parties.
• Make only authorized substitutions.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and organization of food service areas.
• Properly care for and maintain kitchen supplies and equipment.
• Follow established food preparation and sanitation procedures.

Position Type: Full-Time, 2 Part-Time, and 1 Per Diem Position
Pay Rate: $16.38 per hour

About the Position

• Ensure meals are palatable, appetizing, and served on time.
• Follow established portion-control procedures.
• Prepare and provide bedtime snacks.
• Ensure residents receive the appropriate utensils and equipment with their meal trays.
• Prepare approved substitute meals for residents who refuse menu items.
• Assist with meal service and food preparation for special events and parties.
• Make only authorized food substitutions.

Requirements
