Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet, NJ seeks dependable Cooks to join our dietary team. Prepare and serve nutritious meals following menus, recipes, and dietary requirements, while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Roles include full-time, two part-time, and one per diem position with a starting pay rate of $16.38 per hour. Previous healthcare cooking experience preferred; strong English communication and sanitation knowledge are important for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience preferred, particularly in healthcare or institutional settings.
• Ability to prepare a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets and special diet orders.
• Ensure meals are palatable, appetizing, and served on time.
• Follow established portion-control procedures.
• Prepare and provide bedtime snacks.
• Ensure residents receive the appropriate utensils and equipment with their meal trays.
• Prepare approved substitute meals for residents who refuse menu items.
• Assist with meal service and food preparation for special events and parties.
• Make only authorized food substitutions.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and organization of food service areas.
• Properly care for and maintain kitchen supplies and equipment.
• Follow established food preparation and sanitation procedures.
