Job summary

Cedar Ridge Village is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare meals according to cycle menus and maintain food handling standards, creating a restaurant-style dining experience for residents at our West Des Moines community.

The role requires basic high school education, knowledge of sanitation, and at least one year of health-care food service experience. Serv Safe certification should be completed within the first year. We offer a supportive team and competitive wages.

  • Preference given to candidates with culinary training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals according to cycle menus and maintain food handling standards.
  • Monitor temperatures of hot and cold foods during prep and service.
  • Create a restaurant-style dining experience for residents.
  • Coordinate food preparation and meal service to meet schedules.
  • Assist with inventory and receiving of food and supplies.
  • Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures at all times.

This position is responsible for preparing meals according to cycle menus and monitoring methods of food handling preparations, meal service, and equipment cleaning.
