Job summary

Westchester Village in Lenexa, KS seeks a dedicated Cook to prepare meals per cycle menus, ensuring food safety and quality in a restaurant-style dining experience. You’ll monitor handling, service, and equipment cleaning while supporting nutrition-focused menus for residents.

We offer full-time and part-time roles with 4/8/12 hour shifts, health and dental plans, 401(k) match, PTO, and career development opportunities within a family-oriented retirement community.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent education is required.
  • Preference is given to persons with Culinary or equivalent training.
  • Minimum one year food service experience in a health care dietary setting is desired.
  • Serv Safe certification must be completed in the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate food prep and meal service, including nutritional snacks.
  • Monitor temperatures of hot/cold foods and ensure safety.
  • Plan cooking schedules to meet meal times.
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness; follow infection control.
  • Assist with inventory, receiving, and storing food.

This position is responsible for preparing meals according to cycle menus and monitoring methods of food handling preparations, meal service, and equipment cleaning.
