Job summary

Scenic Living Communities is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team, preparing meals per cycle menus and delivering a restaurant-style dining experience for residents. This role focuses on safe handling, accurate portioning, and timely meal service in a senior living setting.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, at least one year of healthcare dietary food service experience, and Serv Safe certification within the first year.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent education is required.
  • Serv Safe certification must be completed in the first year of employment.
  • Minimum one year food service experience in a health care dietary setting is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate food preparation and meal service, including nutritional snacks.
  • Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods to meet safety goals.
  • Plan and initiate cooking schedule to meet meal times.
  • Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures and maintain a clean environment.
  • Assist with inventory and receiving and storing food and supplies.
  • Clean equipment and work areas as assigned.
  • Be knowledgeable of federal, state, and community rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Attend scheduled department staff meetings and in-service programs.
  • Understand community fire and disaster plans and follow drills and procedures.
