GRAND VIEW HEALTHCARE CENTER, located in Washington, Missouri is seeking a cook to join our team. The role involves preparing meals per menu, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed, and delivering appetizing, presentable dishes.

The cook will maintain a clean, organized work area, adhere to health code standards, and help with inventory and meals planning. Requires high school diploma or GED, 18+ years old, and English proficiency; training in dietary techniques and lifting up to 25–50 lbs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Knowledgeable of dietary techniques and procedures.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and/or 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals, desserts and snacks according to the posted menu; follows special diets and dietary concerns.
• Serves meals that are palatable and presentable.
• Keeps work area clean, organized, and sanitized; may wash pots and pans.
• Knows health code requirements for food storage and hot/cold holding temperatures and maintains documentation.
• Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet serving portions.
• Maintains a safe, clean and respectable work environment.
• Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.

• Prepares meals, desserts and snacks in accordance with the posted menu schedule; makes sure that all special diets and dietary concerns are followed
• Serves meals that are palatable and presentable
• Responsible for keeping work area clean, organized, sanitized, may include washing pots and pans, etc
• Knows health code requirements for food and beverage storage and hot/cold holding temperatures and maintains documentation
• Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet serving portions
• Maintains a safe, clean and respectable work environment
• Attends and participates in continuing educational programs

Cook Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be interested in geriatrics, be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Knowledgeable of dietary techniques and procedures
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and/or 50 pounds occasionally
