Job summary

The Waterford at Colby, a Sonida Senior Living community, seeks a Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for residents in a sanitary, organized kitchen. You will support the Culinary Services Director and help maintain high dining standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, a Food Service Sanitation Certificate, and experience with volume meal preparation. Teamwork, flexibility, and strong communication are essential; location-based eligibility for benefits

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Some supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand recipes and work in a team.
• Good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves meals in a well-organized, sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining an efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares meals for assigned shifts and ensures timely service.
• Maintains dining standards, customer service, and cleanliness in dining rooms and kitchens.
• Cleans work areas, pots, and equipment after service.
• Properly stores leftovers with labels and dates.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
