Base pay range

$19.00/hr - $22.00/hr

Job Description

Prepare and cook all food for residents according to standardized recipes and regulatory and departmental policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED
• Experience as a cook or cook assistant in a restaurant, hospital, or nursing home is a plus but not necessary. Will train the right person.

We offer weekly payroll, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, and tuition reimbursement.

Hours

6 am - 2 pm (sometimes 11:30 am - 7:30 pm may be an option)

Duties

• Participate in patient tray assembly.
• Prepare foods of high quality in specified quantities for both regular and modified diets.
• Meet meal schedules.
• Arrange steam table for tray line service.
• Adhere to sanitation laws and regulations, including the State health Code and FDA Food Code.
• Demonstrate proper food handling procedures as per HACCP guidelines.
• Maintain a safe environment for geriatric patients.
• Provide good guest relations and a positive attitude toward visitors, patients, and vendors.
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Sufficient vision to read small print; ability to distinguish modified menus and sanitation codes.
• Flexibility to work in various environments. Part-time position every other weekend; Per Diem as needed.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, walk, stand, push, and pull. Exposure to heat, cold, hot surfaces, liquids, wet floors, sharp utensils, and cleaning chemicals.

Job Type: Part-time or Full-time. Every other weekend work is required. Per Diem available as needed.
