What will you be doing and how will you make a difference at American Senior Communities?

  • Providing care and compassion to make a difference in residents’ lives.
  • Being a positive teammate by helping onboard new staff.
  • Following recipes and preparing food as per menu cycles by the Registered Dietitian.
  • Cooking or preparing palatable, attractive, and nutritious meals in institutional quantities at proper temperatures and times.
  • Demonstrating, instructing, and educating dietary staff on food preparations, garnishing, and presentation.
  • Supervising dietary staff in food prep, tray assembly, cleaning, and storage of supplies and equipment.
  • Preparing and maintaining supplies of food substitutes to accommodate residents’ preferences, cultural, ethnic, and religious needs.
  • Handling, storing, and disposing of food supplies per departmental procedures and regulations.
  • Communicating with the Dietary Services Manager throughout shifts to meet residents’ needs.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate C.A.R.E. values to residents, family, customers, and staff.
  • High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 years related experience/training; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Prior institutional or healthcare service experience preferred.
  • Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification preferred.
