Job summary

Dimensions Living Sheboygan is seeking a part-time Cook to join our caring culinary team. You will prepare and serve meals for residents, following planned menus and dietary guidelines while maintaining high standards of taste, portion control, and presentation.

This role requires the ability to work mornings 7:00am–1:00pm on Mondays and Thursdays, with every other weekend. You’ll help with prep, food safety, cleanliness, and resident engagement to ensure a welcoming dining experience.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required; senior living or healthcare is a plus.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and dietary needs.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Must stand long hours, bend, reach, lift, up to 40 pounds.
• Food handler certification or willingness to obtain; ServSafe a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and food safety standards.

About the Role:

As a Cook with Dimensions Living Sheboygan, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and serving meals according to planned menus and dietary guidelines
• Ensuring meals are tasty, properly portioned, and attractively presented
• Following recipes, food safety standards, and community guidelines to a T

You will also:

• Assisting with food prep, baking, and special meals as needed
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, storage, and serving areas
• Monitoring food inventory and reporting supply needs to the Dining Services Director
• Creating a welcoming experience for residents during meal service
• Interacting with residents warmly and respectfully

What You Bring to the Table:

• Previous cooking experience required; senior living or healthcare setting a plus
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and dietary needs (e.g. diabetic, low-sodium)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced kitchen team
• Physical requirements: ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, lift, and carry throughout your shift; must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a warm kitchen environment
• Food handler certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire); ServSafe certification a plus!
