Job summary

Savant Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Cook in California to prepare appealing, nutritious meals for residents, families, and guests. Reporting to the Director of Culinary, you will help deliver heart-healthy options with careful portioning and timely service in a warm, resident-focused environment.

  • At least two years’ experience with food preparation and kitchen operations.

  • Ability to read and follow recipes and labels accurately.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work with the elderly.
  • First Aid Certification may be required.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Director of Culinary, the Cook is responsible for providing & preparing appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy, tasteful and fresh meals for residents, prospective residents, families and guests

Must haves:
  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • At least two years’ experience with food preparation, food purchasing, kitchen safety sanitation, and menu preparation in a restaurant, health care facility, or institution.
  • Speak, read, and understand the English language.
  • Read and follow instructions, recipe books, menus, and food labels correctly.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly.
  • May be required to hold valid First Aid Certification.
