Savant of Arcadia is seeking a Cook to join our dining team in Woodland, CA. You will report to the Director of Dining Services and prepare appealing, nutritious meals for residents, families and guests, emphasizing heart-healthy options and freshness.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of kitchen experience in healthcare or institutional settings, strong English skills, and a positive attitude. We offer great benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years’ experience with food preparation, food purchasing, kitchen safety sanitation, and menu preparation in a restaurant, health care facility, or institution.
• Speak, read, and understand the English language.
• Read and follow instructions, recipe books, menus, and food labels correctly.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly.
• May be required to hold valid First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Dining Services and prepare appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy meals for residents, prospective residents, families and guests.
• Ensure meals are fresh and prepared to Menu/recipes.
• Maintain kitchen safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Director of Dining Services, the Cook is responsible for providing & preparing appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy, tasteful and fresh meals for residents, prospective residents, families and guests

Must haves:

• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent certificate
• At least two years’ experience with food preparation, food purchasing, kitchen safety sanitation, and menu preparation in a restaurant, health care facility, or institution.
• Speak, read, and understand the English language.
