Job summary

Seal Rock Healthcare, part of the Atlantic Heights Community, is seeking an overnight cook in a full-time role based in Maine. The position runs 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM with an alternating weekend schedule, and involves preparing the following day’s menu entrees and breakfasts for day shift staff.

Candidate should be dependable, a self-starter, and comfortable working alone for extended periods. Education is associate-level preferred; two years of food service experience is desirable.

• Education: Associate’s degree preferred, not required.
• Experience: Two years related food service experience preferred.
• Leadership: Position may need leadership skills and experience, if supervising staff.
• Excellent communications skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.

• Preparation, cooking, and service of a variety of foods.
• General cleaning up of kitchen.
• Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
• Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary.

Hourly Rate $19.45 - $22.45

This is a full-time position as a overnight cook. Hours are 11:00 PM-7:30 AM. Alternating weekend schedule. One on one off. Candidate must be dependable and a self-starter. Must be comfortable with working alone as the candidate is the only employee working for several hours. Responsible for the preparation of the following day menu entrees and preparing breakfast for day shift staff.

Cook Job Summary

Working for a Maine owned company while taking care of Maine people our Cooks work with a busy Dietary Services team to prepare appetizing and healthful food based on the nutrition and health needs of our Residents.

Responsibilities And Duties Include But Not Limited To

• Review menus prior to preparation of food
• Inspect special diet trays to assure they are correct
• Preparation, cooking, and service of a variety of foods
• General cleaning up of kitchen
• Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies
• Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary
• Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished
• Assure that food and supplies for the meal are readily available

Requirements

Education: Associate’s degree preferred, not required

Experience: Two years related food service experience preferred
