Fairhaven Christian Retirement Ctr is seeking an experienced Cook to join our Food Services team. You will prepare and serve meals, follow menus and portion guidelines, and ensure on-time service.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, reading instructions in English, and working in a Christian retirement community environment. Experience in healthcare foodService is preferred and benefits are provided.

• Protect resident privacy and follow HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, infection control, and Fairhaven policies.

Fairhaven is looking for an experienced Cook to join our Food Services team!

What You'll Do

• Prepare and serve meals following menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• Ensure food is ready and served on time.
• Follow therapeutic diet requirements when preparing meals.
• Check and record food and storage temperatures.
• Keep the kitchen, equipment, and work areas clean and sanitized.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform kitchen duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for an entire shift, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to read instructions and communicate effectively in English.
• Comfortable working in a Christian retirement community.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of cooking experience in a restaurant, nursing home, or institutional setting.
• Food service sanitation certification or course completion.

Work Environment

• Kitchen and dining room settings.
• Regular exposure to hot equipment, steam, and hot water.
• Typical healthcare environment serving older adults.

Full-Time

• 37.5 hours per week / $18.00-24.00hr depending on experience
• 5:30 AM - 1:30 PM
• Weekdays and weekends
