Job summary

Savant of Jurupa is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our dining services team. You will prepare appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy meals for residents, families and guests under the direction of the Director of Dining Services.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least two years of kitchen experience, strong English, and a positive attitude when working with seniors. We offer great benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years in food prep, purchasing, safety sanitation, and menu planning.
• English language proficiency required.
• Ability to follow recipes/instructions accurately.
• Positive attitude and teamwork, especially with seniors.
• First Aid certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy meals for residents, families and guests.
• Assist with menu planning and food preparation under the Director of Dining Services.
• Ensure kitchen safety and sanitation standards are met.
• Assist with purchasing and inventory as needed.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Director of Dining Services, the Cook is responsible for providing & preparing appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy, tasteful and fresh meals for residents, prospective residents, families and guests

Must haves:

• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent certificate


• At least two years’ experience with food preparation, food purchasing, kitchen safety sanitation, and menu preparation in a restaurant, health care facility, or institution.


• Speak, read, and understand the English language.


• Read and follow instructions, recipe books, menus, and food labels correctly.


• Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly.


• May be required to hold valid First Aid Certification.
