Job summary

Savant Senior Living in Arcadia is seeking a Cook to join our dining team. You will prepare appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy meals for residents, families and guests, reporting to the Director of Dining Services.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of kitchen experience, a high school diploma, reads English well, and works well with seniors. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and an inclusive, supportive work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience with food preparation, purchasing, kitchen safety sanitation, and menu planning in a restaurant, health care facility, or institution.
  • Speak, read, and understand English.
  • Read and follow instructions, recipe books, menus, and food labels correctly.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly.
  • May be required to hold valid First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy meals for residents, prospective residents, families and guests.
  • Follow recipes, menus and food safety guidelines.
  • Assist with menu planning and food purchasing.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Director of Dining Services, the Cook is responsible for providing & preparing appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy, tasteful and fresh meals for residents, prospective residents, families and guests

Must haves
  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • At least two years’ experience with food preparation, food purchasing, kitchen safety sanitation, and menu preparation in a restaurant, health care facility, or institution.
  • Speak, read, and understand the English language.
  • Read and follow instructions, recipe books, menus, and food labels correctly.

Pay rate $22.00 -24.50 per hour
