Work Schedule: 40 hours per week; work hours may vary based on business needs; may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may be required.

About the Department: Campus Enterprises is NC State University's division of retail and hospitality organizations, including NC State Dining, NC State Stores, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), and the One Card Office. Each department aims to provide service excellence, value, and enrichment of the student experience to support academic success.

NC State Dining provides campus-wide food services, operating cafes, food courts, dining halls, markets, restaurants, vending, nutritional counseling, and catering. The department employs around 1000 temporary and student employees, along with approximately 190 permanent EHRA and SHRA employees.

Essential Job Duties

This position serves as a cook in an NC State Dining unit, overseeing tasks and directing food service technicians, temporary, and student employees.

Duties and Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Execute recipes to fulfill the menu.
  • Requisition ingredients needed for recipes.
  • Manage food supplies before and during production.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to serve food and ensure smooth flow from kitchen to customers.
  • Monitor food levels and orders during service; document data in the C-Bord Food Production System if needed.
  • Clean utensils, workspaces, tables, shelves, and equipment; assign cleaning tasks to staff.
  • Ensure food prep and staff readiness, complete daily prep lists, and maintain proper product rotation.

Other Responsibilities

Model the division's mission and values, foster a positive workplace, and promote teamwork and customer service. Understand organizational goals and how work activities impact clients.
