Pay Range

This range is provided by Commonwealth Senior Living. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range

$15.00/hr - $17.00/hr

Job Details and Responsibilities

The Cook, under the direction of management, will prepare, present, store, and dispatch all food products, including dining room, bistro, catering, and resident tray service. Responsibilities include adhering to menu specifications, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring quality and presentation of meals. The shift is from 11 am to 7 pm, with a rotation of 6 am to 2 pm, including weekends.

Key Duties
  • Prepare and serve menu items according to policies.
  • Ensure presentation standards are met.
  • Prepare meals based on nutritional and individual plans.
  • Maintain food quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Work efficiently and timely to meet meal preparation needs.
  • Ensure dietary requirements are met for residents.
  • Utilize kitchen equipment properly.
  • Assist with training new staff and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 1 year of cooking experience.
  • Knowledge of food trends, sanitation, and food cost controls.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, and email.
