Job summary

Wingate Living is seeking a dedicated cook to provide residents with high-quality meals in a restaurant-style dining setting. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to deliver exceptional service and maintain food quality according to established recipes and menus.

The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Schedule includes full-time hours with every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience as a Cook in a food service environment.
• Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Willing to assist at another community for coverage; travel reimbursed.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
• Ensures quality and consistency of the food, including temperatures, portions, palatability, and attractiveness.
• Performs routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by supervisor.
• Assists in cleaning kitchen equipment, storage areas, and supply areas as scheduled.
• Removes garbage and cleans trash containers.
• Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Develops strategies with residents and families to promote person-centered care.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Job Purpose:

Work closely with the Executive Chef to Director to provide residents with a high level of customer service while promoting a restaurant style dining experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares and cooks meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
• Complies with quality and consistency of the food to include food temperatures, portion control, palatability and attractiveness of food.
• Perform defined work routines using various dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by supervisor.
• Required to assist in the cleaning of the kitchen equipment, food storage area, and supply areas according to the community schedule.
• Required to remove garbage from the kitchen and to clean trash containers.
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Successful completion of ServSafe certification course preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Minimum of three years' experience as a Cook in a food service environment required.
