Job summary

Lifepoint Health's Texas Rehabilitation of Plano is opening a brand-new inpatient rehabilitation facility in 2026, offering compassionate, evidence-based care. We are seeking a dedicated food service professional to contribute to meal preparation, safety and dietary compliance in a hospital setting.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will prepare meals, follow recipes and assist with diet modifications under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Prior food service or restaurant experience is preferred.
• Prior healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Ensures meals are ready at the specified times and tests foods being cooked to ensure proper seasoning.
• Consults with the Registered Dietitian on modified diets, as necessary.
• Supervises Nutritional Services workers when washing, trimming or preparing food.
• Measures and mixes ingredients according to approved recipes, using blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, etc.
• Makes sauces, soups, stews, casseroles and desserts meeting established dietary guidelines.
• Cooks meat, fish and poultry in a variety of ways such as baking, roasting, broiling and steaming.
• Maintains kitchen in a clean, neat and organized manner and adheres to all infection control policies and procedures.

Texas Rehabilitation of Plano is a brand-new 40 bed inpatient rehabilitation facility opening in 2026. We offer high-quality, compassionate care for a wide variety of patients in need. Our teams provide evidence-based, transformational care for a broad range of rehabilitation concerns in a compassionate, comfortable environment.

How You'll Contribute

What We're Looking For
