Job summary

Texas Rehabilitation of Plano is opening a brand-new inpatient rehabilitation facility and seeks a dedicated Food Services Aide to support patient meals and dining operations. You will prepare trays, verify orders, and assist patients with menu selections in a hospital setting.

The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and compassionate patient care, with on-site duties, meal recordkeeping, and support for dietary needs. Comprehensive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior food service or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepares food trays for general and therapeutic diets and prepares special diet foods as necessary.
• Verifies trays for accuracy.
• Prepares and delivers trays or snacks to patient care units or patients.
• Delivers daily menus and assists patients with ordering.
• Records patient meal intakes.
• Maintains a clean, organized tray line and returns dishes to the dish area.
• Uses meal program to enter new patients and adjust diet orders as needed.
• Sets up serving line with appropriate foods and utensils per menus.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Texas Rehabilitation of Plano is a brand-new 40 bed inpatient rehabilitation facility opening in 2026. We offer high-quality, compassionate care for a wide variety of patients in need. Our teams provide evidence-based, transformational care for a broad range of rehabilitation concerns in a compassionate, comfortable environment.

How you'll contribute

A Food Services Aide who excels in this role:

• Accurately prepares food trays for general and therapeutic diets and prepares special diet foods as necessary.
• Verifies trays for accuracy.
• Prepares and delivers items, such as trays or snacks, as requested by patient care units or patients.
• Deliver/collect daily menus and assist patients with ordering.
• Record meal intakes of patients.
• Maintains tray line in a clean, neat and organized manner and puts clean dishes and utensils away.
• Collect soiled trays and utensils from dining room tables and transport them to dish washing area.
• Use meal program to enter new patients and adjust diet orders as needed.
• Set up serving line with cold foods, condiments, serving containers, dishes, silverware, etc. according to the menus and as instructed.
• Other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior food service or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and great interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
