In this role, you will prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for our residents while ensuring compliance with dietary restrictions, food safety standards, and sanitation requirements. The Cook is responsible for managing kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor and helping create a positive dining experience for our residents.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelinesEnsure meals are prepared according to physician-ordered diets and nutritional requirementsAssist with food preparation, portioning, and meal serviceMonitor food quality, temperature, and presentationMaintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and food preparation areasFollow all food safety regulations and infection control proceduresProperly store food and supplies according to regulatory standardsAssist with inventory management and food rotation proceduresOperate kitchen equipment safely and efficientlySupport Dietary Aides and other dietary team members as neededMaintain accurate records related to food safety and kitchen operationsManage kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary SupervisorQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of one year of cooking experience in a hospital, healthcare, rehabilitation, or long-term care settingKnowledge of therapeutic diets and food preparation standards preferredStrong organizational and time-management skillsLicenses & CertificationsMust obtain and maintain a ServSafe CertificationKnowledge and experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferredMust remain in good standing with the Department of Public HealthWe are an equal opportunity employer.
