Job summary

Bedford Care Centers in Mississippi is seeking a dedicated cook responsible for preparing meals that meet Diet Orders, menu specifications, and sanitary regulations under supervision. You will assist with receiving grocery orders, maintaining inventory, and upholding high quality in food service while communicating respectfully with staff and Residents.

• Experience in large-scale cooking services preferred.
• Must be in good physical condition and able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory criminal history background check.

Responsibilities

• Immediately ensures any liquids on floor are cleaned; reports other safety hazards.
• Serves on Safety Committee and participates in safety meetings and audits when requested.
• Complies with infection control policies and reports exposure to infectious disease.
• Assists with food orders, receiving and checking in supplies, storing food and inventory.

Job Summary:

Responsible for overall preparation of meals compliant with Diet Orders, menu specifications, Company Policies, State and Federal Laws, Dietary/Sanitary Regulations under supervision of Dietary Supervisor and Manager; receives incoming grocery orders and supplies; assists with maintaining adequate inventory and accurate inventory records; maintains high standards of quality in food preparation and service; must communicate courteously, respectfully with Employees, Residents and others; must maintain high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene

Qualifications:

Experience in large-scale cooking services is preferred; on-the-job training will be provided; must be in good physical condition, able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions to accomplish job duties; must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check
