Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando in Orlando, FL is seeking a part-time cook to prepare patient, retail, and catering meals following production records and quality standards.

You will manage advance prep, stock rotation, and maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen while meeting health regulations; collaboration with managers and teammates will help meet service goals. Prior institutional cooking experience and ServeSafe (preferred) are valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in cooking in an institutional setting.
• Ability to follow, read and write recipes as needed.
• ServeSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient, retail, and catering meals by following culinary production records.
• Execute advance prep tasks by reviewing pull sheets and organizing ingredients.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment and record temperatures per regulations.
• Manage inventory by sorting, labeling, dating, and rotating stock to minimize waste.
• Collaborate with managers and team members to meet operational goals and support efficient service.

Job Description:

Prepare patient, retail, and catering meals by following culinary production records, including short‑order and batch cooking to ensure quality and temperature standards. Execute advance prep tasks by reviewing pull sheets and organizing ingredients for upcoming service periods and high‑volume production needs. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment and surfaces meet health standards and recording temperatures according to regulatory requirements. Manage inventory by sorting, labeling, dating, and rotating stock to support food safety and minimize waste. Collaborate with managers and team members to meet operational goals, communicate needs, and support efficient food service delivery. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Able to communicate in English well to effectively communicate and interact with internal and external customers. [Required]
