Cook Responsibilities:

• Report to the Restaurant General Manager; be a champion of better burgers!
• Be a menu expert; follow Smashburger’s prep and recipe standards to prepare guest orders
• Read, prepare, and cook food orders to specifications to ensure guest satisfaction and minimize waste
• Work as part of a team; communicate effectively with Guest Service Experts (GSE) and managers in a busy environment
• Ensure all food items are rung in before preparing orders; be flexible to verbal instructions
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, equipment, and counters using approved cleaning products
• Operate large cooking equipment such as grills and fryers; handle knives and slicing tools properly
• Follow checklists and systems for setup, stocking, and closing the kitchen
• Learn new recipes and procedures to support promotions
• Assist GSEs with dining room cleanliness and food delivery; perform other duties as assigned
• Follow all safety standards to foster a safe work environment

Cook Requirements:

• No experience necessary; we provide training
• Must be at least 16 years old
• Physical ability to stand for long periods; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to kneel, bend, twist, and work in high temperatures
• Reliable attendance, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Follow uniform standards and all guidelines and regulations
• Must produce authorized U.S. work documents; Smashburger participates in E-Verify
