Base pay range

$21.00/yr - $24.55/yr

Duties
  1. Performs duties including roasting, broiling, baking, frying, boiling, steaming, and stewing meats, fish, and poultry.
  2. Prepares soups, stocks, broths, gravies, sauces, and puddings without packaged mixes.
  3. Adjusts recipes for servings, performs yield testing, and prepares cold food platters and salads.
  4. Plans and coordinates cooking of multiple items to ensure complete meals are ready on time and at proper temperatures.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of food preparation principles and food characteristics.
  • Understanding of meal planning and yield testing.
  • Procedures for ordering, issuing, and storing food.
Responsibilities
  • Receives assignments from supervisor or instructions.
  • Plans, coordinates, and times work to ensure timely food preparation.
  • Adjusts ingredient amounts while maintaining recipe balance.
  • Responsible for safe use and care of kitchen equipment.
Physical Effort

Frequently lifts objects up to 40 pounds, stands, walks, stoops, reaches, pushes, and bends.

Working Conditions

Works in hot, noisy kitchens, exposed to steam, fumes, and potential hazards like burns and cuts.

Requirements
  • Successful completion of pre-employment checks and background investigation.
  • Ability to physically lift objects as required.
  • Must obtain and maintain required immunizations and certifications.
Qualifications

Experience in food preparation in a restaurant, grill, snack bar, or similar setting is required.

Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for long periods.

Additional Information
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or meet residency requirements.
