Job summary

Buena Vida is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our dietary team in a skilled nursing facility. The Cook will prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for residents and follow dietary guidelines while upholding food safety standards.

Responsibilities include preparing meals per approved menus, maintaining proper temperatures, assisting with meal service, and keeping kitchen areas clean. Experience in healthcare food service and reliable attendance are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure food is prepared in accordance with physician-ordered special diets and resident preferences.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and portion control standards.
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food products.
• Assist with meal service and ensure timely delivery of meals.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the Food Service Director.
• Work collaboratively with dietary staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and facility regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Food Service Director.

Qualifications
