Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Cook for the UMMC - West Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. The role offers roughly 28 hours bi-weekly on day and evening shifts, and is not benefit eligible.

You will prepare and portion foods, assemble patient trays, and ensure safe, timely service to patients and staff. The position requires 1–3 years of cook experience, solid English communication, basic math, and food-safety certification (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• One to three years cook experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, using the English language.
• Basic math skills.
• Certified or willing to become certified for food safety.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Prepares food products to meet temperature and quality standards.
• Follows standardized recipes weighing and measuring ingredients to assure products are consistent in quality and nutritional value.
• Assemble food within appropriate time frames.
• Handle and prepare food in safe manner following HACCP standardized operating procedures
• Takes and documents temperatures of food items and makes appropriate adjustments to achieve standards.
• Sanitizes equipment and work area per assigned schedules and designated procedure.
• Takes ownership for self and others in work area.
• Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
