Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Cook at the UMMC - West Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. This role is about 28 hours bi-weekly, with day and evening shifts and is not benefit eligible.

Responsibilities include preparing and portioning food, assembling and disassembling patient trays, serving and delivering trays, and following HACCP procedures to ensure safety and quality.

A High School Diploma or GED is preferred; food safety certification is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years cook experience required.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbal and written.
• Basic math skills are required for portioning and costing.
• Certified or willing to become certified for food safety.

• Prepare and portion food per standards and recipes.
• Assemble and disassemble patient trays; serve and deliver trays to patients.

Job Overview

Fairview is looking for a Cook at our UMMC - West Bank location, in Minneapolis, MN! This position is about 28 hours bi-weekly, on day and evening shift. This position is not benefit eligible. Prepares and portions food, assembles and disassembles patient trays in a safe manner. Serves customers, delivers, and retrieves patient trays.

Schedule

Week 1

• Monday 330PM-730PM
• Tuesday 330PM-730PM
• Wednesday 330PM-730PM
• Saturday 1130AM-8PM
• Sunday 1130AM-8PM

Responsibilities

Week 2

• Prepares food products to meet temperature and quality standards.
• Follows standardized recipes weighing and measuring ingredients to assure products are consistent in quality and nutritional value.
• Assemble food within appropriate time frames.
• Handle and prepare food in safe manner following HACCP standardized operating procedures
• Takes and documents temperatures of food items and makes appropriate adjustments to achieve standards.
• Sanitizes equipment and work area per assigned schedules and designated procedure.
• Takes ownership for self and others in work area.
• Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

Required Qualifications

• One to three years cook experience
• Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, using the English language.
• Basic math skills.
• Certified or willing to become certified for food safety

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
