Job summary

The Missouri Veterans Commission is seeking a Cook to join our dietary team caring for our Veterans. You will prepare meals, follow physicians' diet orders, and help ensure food safety and sanitation in the kitchen.

The role provides hourly shifts with competitive pay and a benefits package including vacation, sick leave, holidays, health and life insurance, and retirement plans.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to recipes and serve according to diets as ordered by the physician.
• Perform a variety of skilled cooking assignments, including daily preparation of portions of a large production meal and intermittent preparation of all portions of a large production meal.
• Coordinate activities of a small work group including Food Service Assistants as needed.
• Ensure food is handled, stored, and served within protocols.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in the kitchen by participating in the cleaning of stoves, cookers, kettles and all other related cooking and food storage devices.
• Operate equipment, making sure it is properly cleaned and sanitized after each use and report problems per facility policy.

Hourly Rate:

• $17.45 - $17.77 day shift
• $19.45 - $19.77 evening shift
