Job summary

Milestone Retirement in Anacortes, WA is seeking a dedicated Cook for a temporary interim role in our senior living community. This full-time position offers hourly pay of $20–$22 and is anticipated to last 6 to 12 months.

Under the Director of Culinary Services, you will prepare meals per approved menus and dietary requirements, ensure safe cooking and serving temperatures, and maintain a clean, welcoming kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of food service experience; three years preferred.
• Food Handler’s Permit as required by state and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure food is safely stored, cooked, and served at proper temperatures.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment, including all equipment and prep areas.
• Assist in training and mentoring culinary staff.
• Monitor resident preferences and satisfaction; uphold safety and health standards.
• Foster teamwork and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Report any elder maltreatment or abuse as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Role

About the RoleUnder the direction of the Director of Culinary Services, the Cook prepares and serves meals that meet nutritional and safety standards while ensuring resident satisfaction. This role supports culinary operations and dining services while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
