Job summary

ServingSchools is seeking a Cook to prepare center meals, establish the menu, and determine quantities needed for daily service. The role includes maintaining inventory, assisting in reports, and ensuring meals are wholesome and appetizing for students.

The Cook will also supervise student workers on the serving line, monitor kitchen cleanliness, and document food costs while adhering to safety standards. Working hours run Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Experience in school or institutional food service is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow menus and portion controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily center meals according to schedule.
• Ensure meals are wholesome and appealing.
• Maintain inventory and request supplies as needed.
• Assist in producing weekly and monthly food service reports.
• Clean and maintain kitchen and dining areas.
• Record daily food costs and usage.
• Assist in serving meals.

• Store leftovers properly.

• Ensures meals are wholesome and appetizing.
• Maintains inventory of foodstuffs and requests additional food as necessary.
• Assists in preparing weekly and monthly food service reports.
• Assists in cleaning and maintaining kitchen and dining areas.
• Maintains daily record of food costs and amount of food used.
• Assists in serving meals.
• Reports unsafe or unsanitary conditions in the kitchen/dining area.
• Ensures leftover foods are properly covered and stored.
• Directs work of students who are assigned to serving line.
