Job summary

LEBANON SOUTH NURSING & REHAB, located in Lebanon, Missouri, is seeking a Cook to join our team. The role involves preparing meals according to the posted menu, ensuring special diets are followed, and presenting meals that look and taste appealing.

The Cook will maintain a clean, organized work area, follow health code standards, assist with inventory, and participate in ongoing education to support high-quality resident meals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Knowledge of dietary techniques and procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals, desserts and snacks per posted menu; follows special diets.
• Serves meals that are palatable and presentable.
• Keeps work area clean, organized and sanitized; washes pots and pans.
• Maintains health code documentation for storage and temperatures.
• Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet portions.

Cook Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares meals, desserts and snacks in accordance with the posted menu schedule; makes sure that all special diets and dietary concerns are followed
• Serves meals that are palatable and presentable
• Responsible for keeping work area clean, organized, sanitized, may include washing pots and pans, etc
• Knows health code requirements for food and beverage storage and hot/cold holding temperatures and maintains documentation
• Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet serving portions
• Maintains a safe, clean and respectable work environment
• Attends and participates in continuing educational programs

Cook Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be interested in geriatrics, be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Knowledgeable of dietary techniques and procedures
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and/or 50 pounds occasionally
