Job summary

Greenbrier Senior Living in Brentwood, TN, is seeking a dependable Full-Time Cook to join The Rivers at Maryland Farms. You will prepare meals, follow menus and dietary requirements, and work with a dining services team to provide flavorful, nutritious dishes for residents.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of cooking or related food service experience required.
• Senior living, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Culinary education or equivalent professional cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, proper food handling, and kitchen procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Dependable, organized, and committed to providing excellent service.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and established portion guidelines.
• Help ensure meals are flavorful, attractive, nutritious, and served at the proper temperature.
• Assist with menu planning and food preparation as needed.
• Follow resident dietary requirements, including therapeutic and modified diets.
• Maintain proper sanitation, food safety, and cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen.
• Assist with cleaning cooking areas, kitchen equipment, and food preparation spaces.
• Properly store, label, rotate, and handle food in accordance with food safety standards.
• Work closely with the Dining Services team to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding menu planning, food preparation, dietary needs, and other dining-related matters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
