Job summary

The Rivers at Maryland Farms is hiring a Full-Time Cook to join our senior living community in Tennessee. You’ll prepare meals aligned with planned menus and resident dietary needs, while ensuring safety, quality, and presentation.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of cooking or food-service experience is required.
• Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, portion control, and proper food handling.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special dietary instructions.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.

• Monitor food quality and communicate supply or preparation needs to the supervisor.
• Work with dining services and community teams to provide excellent service to residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are currently seeking a dependable and experienced Full-Time Cook who takes pride in preparing great food and enjoys being part of a team where their work makes a difference every day.

What You’ll Do

As a Cook, you will help provide residents with high-quality, enjoyable dining experiences. Responsibilities include:

• Prepare meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and resident dietary needs.
• Ensure food is prepared and served at the proper temperature, portion, quality, and presentation.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, able to work efficiently in a busy kitchen, and committed to providing excellent service to seniors.

• At least 1 year of cooking or food-service experience required.
• Senior living, healthcare, restaurant, or similar high-volume food-service experience preferred.
• Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, portion control, and proper food handling.Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special dietary instructions.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.Must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.
