Job summary

Westminster Lakeland, part of Westminster Communities of Florida, is seeking a part-time cook for our dining services. Prepare quality meals for residents, guests, and staff, following standardized recipes while maintaining sanitation and timeliness. Reports to the Director of Dining Services and the Executive Chef.

Open availability Sunday–Saturday with a Day Shift. Requires a High School Diploma and Florida SafeServe certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Florida SafeServe certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Set up work stations according to guidelines.
• Prepare all food items per standardized recipes in a sanitary, timely manner.
• Distribute prepared food to service areas, restock as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized stations; practice safety and sanitation.

Description

We are currently searching for a Cook to work in Dining. In this role, the Cook prepares quality food using quality ingredients for residents, guests and employees. This position reports directly to the Director of Dining Services and the Executive Chef.

Schedule: Part-Time20-25 hours per week, Open availability Sunday-Saturday.

Shift: Day Shift

This position is responsible for:

• Setup work stations according to established guidelines
• Prepare all food items in accordance with standardized recipes in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Distributes prepared food to all areas of service accurately and consistent in preparation and presentation. Restocks items as needed throughout the shift.
• Cleans and maintains station by practicing good safety, sanitation and organization skills.
• Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen and equipment.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Florida SafeServe certification required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of date of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions
• Ability to perform basic math skills
