Job summary

Westminster Baldwin Park in Orlando, FL is seeking a Cook to join the Dining Services Department. The role involves preparing quality meals for residents, guests and staff, following standardized recipes, and reporting to the Assistant Dining Services Director and/or Chef.

Schedule includes full-time and part-time options, weekdays and EOW. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of high-volume dining experience, Florida Safe Staff certification or ability to obtain within 90 days, and

• Florida Safe Staff certification required or can be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 3+ years of culinary experience in a high-volume full-service dining environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data-type/data entry programs.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; follow directions and basic math.

Responsibilities

• Set up work stations per guidelines.
• Prepare all food items per recipes in a sanitary, timely manner.
• Distribute food to service areas accurately and restock as needed.
• Clean and maintain station with safety and sanitation practices.
• Assist with kitchen cleaning, sanitation and organization.

We are currently searching for a Cook to work in the Dining Services Department. In this role, the Cook is responsible to prepare quality food using quality ingredients for residents, guests and employees. This position reports to Assistant Dining Services Director and/or Chef. Schedule: Full Time & Part Time | Weekdays and EOW

Essential job functions:

1. Setup work stations according to established guidelines.

2. Prepare all food items in accordance with standardized recipes in a sanitary and timely manner.

3. Distributes prepared food to all areas of service accurately and consistent in preparation and presentation. Restocks items as needed throughout the shift.

4. Cleans and maintains station by practicing good safety, sanitation and organization skills.

5. Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen and equipment.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Florida Safe Staff certification required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of date of hire.

Experience:

• 3 or more year’s culinary experience in a high volume full service dining environment.
• Full understanding of basic food preparation methods and cooking techniques in quantity food production.
• Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office and data type programs.

Required skills:

• Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Ability to learn computer programs as defined by Westminster Communities of Florida.
• Willingness to provide a leadership role.
