Westminster Winter Park is seeking a dedicated Cook for a full-time position in a senior living community. You will prepare quality meals for residents, guests and staff using established recipes and safety standards.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and Florida Safe Staff certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days). Three+ years of high-volume culinary experience and basic math skills are expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years culinary experience in a high-volume full-service dining environment.
• Proficiency with basic food preparation methods and cooking techniques for quantity food production.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and follow directions.
• Must perform basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up work stations according to guidelines.
• Prepare all food items per standardized recipes in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Distribute prepared food to all service areas accurately and restock as needed.
• Clean and maintain the station with safety and sanitation practices.
• Assist in cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen and equipment.

Westminster Winter Park, a beautiful lakeside Active Living Community in Winter Park has an open position for a Cook, full time. We are a not-for-profit community service organization dedicated and committed to providing services for older adults. We are an \"EOE\" and \"Honor those who have served.\"

POSITION SUMMARY:

Prepares quality food using quality ingredients for residents, guests and employees. Expanded distinct duties may be attached.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Communities.

• Setup work stations according to established guidelines.
• Prepare all food items in accordance with standardized recipes in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Distributes prepared food to all areas of service accurately and consistent in preparation and presentation. Restocks items as needed throughout the shift.
• Cleans and maintains station by practicing good safety, sanitation and organization skills.
• Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen and equipment.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Florida Safe Staff certification required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of date of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.

Experience:

3 or more year’s culinary experience in a high volume full service dining environment.

Full understanding of basic food preparation methods and cooking techniques in quantity food production.

Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office and data type programs.

Requirements:

1. Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions.
2. Ability to perform basic math skills.
3. Basic knife handling skills.
4. Ability to learn computer programs as defined by Westminster Communities of Florida.
5. Willingness to provide a leadership role.
