Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a compassionate Cook to support residents in our Iowa skilled nursing communities. You will plan menus, prepare and serve meals, and ensure nutrition and dietary requirements are met. You’ll engage residents with kind service and build positive relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantity food preparation.
• Willingness to complete training in Food Safety and Modified Diets.
• Experience in a healthcare dietary setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, bringing creativity and personal flair while meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
• Prepare and serve meals that create an enjoyable, dignified dining experience and support residents’ comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
• Develop positive, respectful relationships with residents by engaging with them and incorporating feedback into meal service whenever possible.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities
