Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our team in Iowa. You will contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, ensuring meals meet nutritional guidelines and resident preferences while delivering a dignified dining experience.

You will prepare and serve meals that support residents’ comfort and quality of life, ensure balanced nutrition, and maintain high food-safety standards. A caring, respectful approach to residents is essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
• Willingness to complete Food Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets training.
• Experience in a healthcare dietary setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, bringing creativity and personal flair while meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
• Prepare and serve meals that create an enjoyable, dignified dining experience and support residents’ comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
• Develop positive, respectful relationships with residents by engaging with them and incorporating feedback into meal service whenever possible.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:
