Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a compassionate Cook in Iowa to contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, ensuring nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet dietary guidelines and residents' preferences. With over forty skilled nursing communities across Iowa, you will join a team dedicated to delivering quality dining experiences.

You will prepare meals that support comfort and quality of life, develop positive relationships with residents, and participate in training on Food Safety,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
• Willingness to complete training in Food Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets.
• Experience in a healthcare dietary setting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
• Prepare and serve meals that are nutritious, well-balanced, and appetizing to support residents’ comfort and quality of life.
• Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and food safety standards.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, bringing creativity and personal flair while meeting nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
• Prepare and serve meals that create an enjoyable, dignified dining experience and support residents’ comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
• Develop positive, respectful relationships with residents by engaging with them and incorporating feedback into meal service whenever possible.

What it takes to become a Cook with Care Initiatives:

• Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
