Job summary

Hireology in Houston is seeking a friendly cook to help us feed our preschool students. You will prepare fresh fruit, vegetables, and other products, and assist with breakfast, lunch, and snacks for all classrooms.

You will also write and prepare monthly lunch and snack menus, maintain kitchen cleanliness, manage inventory, and support management with budgets and ordering. A positive, fun attitude is essential; you’ll be part of a preschool team.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking for 150 children plus is a must.

Responsibilities

• Preparing fresh fruit, vegetables, and other products
• Serving breakfast, cooking and serving lunch for all classrooms; serving a morning and afternoon snack
• Writing and preparing monthly lunch and snack menus
• Cleaning and washing prep table, sweeping and mopping floors, and cleaning and organizing the prep fridge and pantry
• Rinsing kitchen equipment and cutting boards
• Maintaining overall cleanliness of the kitchen and pantry
• Budgeting, managing, and ordering inventory
• Assisting in other areas as needed assigned by management
• And most importantly… having fun! You are working in a preschool!

New Cooks generally earn between $15 and $17 an hour depending on professional experience.
