Job summary

Willow Ridge Memory Care in Hope Park, NC is seeking an experienced Cook to prepare nutritious, appealing meals for residents in accordance with menu plans and dietary needs.

You will work with the Dietary Manager and kitchen team to ensure timely service, maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation, manage inventory, and respond to residents’ preferences with compassion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring nutrition and dietary requirements.

• Team Collaboration: Work with Dietary Manager and kitchen staff and train new staff as needed.
• Inventory Control: Track food supplies and report shortages.
• Resident Engagement: Accommodate dietary requests and preferences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring food is nutritious, appetizing, and prepared according to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Meal Service: Ensure meals are served in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensure proper storage and handling of food supplies.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quality service. Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
• Inventory Control: Assist with inventory management and help track food supplies. Report shortages or order needs to the Dietary Manager.
• Resident Engagement: Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents’ food preferences, ensuring satisfaction with meals served.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including safe food handling and proper sanitation practices.
