Job summary

Serene Meadows of Grand Blanc is seeking a full‑time Cook to join our growing team in Grand Blanc, MI. You will prepare and cook a wide variety of foods for residents and help maintain a clean, orderly kitchen.

Weekend work is required and weekend flexibility is appreciated. Qualifications include at least three years of cooking experience in a hospitality setting, strong English communication, and knowledge of kitchen equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and safe food handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare soups, stocks, sauces; boil, braise and roast items per recipes.
• Prepare sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items per recipes.
• Follow standard recipes and special diet orders for all served food.
• Plan production to coordinate with meal serving hours while maintaining quality, temperature and appearance.
• Determine quantities and sources of food and supplies needed daily and ensure timely procurement.
• Maintain dependability and punctuality as per Attendance Policy.

We are looking for a Cook to join our growing team! The right candidate will have experience as a Cook and have the ability to organize and multi‑task. Responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of foods for residents and maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen. Position does require the ability to work some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roast items per standardized recipes
• Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items per standardized recipes
• Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders
• Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved
• Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production
• Also must maintain dependability and punctuality as outlined in Attendance Policy

Qualifications
