About the Role

As a Cook at The Village at Marymount, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents and patients. You will work closely with our nursing and dietary teams to ensure that each meal is tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Review daily menus and prep plans before the first pot hits the stove

  • Ensure residents receive the correct meals for their prescribed diets

  • Complete required forms, reports, and documentation accurately and on time

  • Coordinate with Nursing, Dietitian, and other departments to keep meals running smoothly

Culinary Care for Our Residents
  • Prepare meals according to planned menus, recipes, and diet orders

  • Create food that looks great, tastes great, and follows portion guidelines

  • Prepare therapeutic and special diets with accuracy and care

  • Serve bedtime snacks and substitute food options when residents refuse a meal

  • Review care plans to ensure dietary needs match what's being served

  • Make sure each tray is complete with appropriate utensils and equipment

Safety, Sanitation & Pride in Cleanliness
  • Prepare and handle food in accordance with all sanitation and infection control guidelines

  • Ensure kitchen equipment and spaces remain clean, safe, and organized

  • Assist with daily and scheduled cleaning duties

  • Monitor food storage areas for cleanliness and proper organization

  • Report hazards, equipment issues, or accidents immediately

  • Dispose of food waste properly and wear protective equipment as required

What We're Looking For
