As a Cook at The Village at Marymount, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents and patients. You will work closely with our nursing and dietary teams to ensure that each meal is tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly.
Review daily menus and prep plans before the first pot hits the stove
Ensure residents receive the correct meals for their prescribed diets
Complete required forms, reports, and documentation accurately and on time
Coordinate with Nursing, Dietitian, and other departments to keep meals running smoothly
Implement diet changes and new diet orders received from Nursing Services
Help standardize kitchen processes so meals are prepared efficiently and on schedule
Ensure menus are maintained and filed per facility policies
Build positive working relationships across all departments
Help create a warm, calm, and welcoming kitchen environment
Communicate professionally and respectfully with coworkers and leadership
Promptly report any workplace exposures or safety concerns to the Director of Food Services
Prepare meals according to planned menus, recipes, and diet orders
Create food that looks great, tastes great, and follows portion guidelines
Prepare therapeutic and special diets with accuracy and care
Serve bedtime snacks and substitute food options when residents refuse a meal
Review care plans to ensure dietary needs match what's being served
Make sure each tray is complete with appropriate utensils and equipment
Prepare and handle food in accordance with all sanitation and infection control guidelines
Ensure kitchen equipment and spaces remain clean, safe, and organized
Assist with daily and scheduled cleaning duties
Monitor food storage areas for cleanliness and proper organization
Report hazards, equipment issues, or accidents immediately
Dispose of food waste properly and wear protective equipment as required
Previous Cook experience is REQUIRED
SNF or ALF experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety standards
