Job summary

Colonial Poplin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center seeks a dependable Cook to join our Dietary Services team. You will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals while ensuring sanitation, safety, and dietary guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

  • Previous cooking experience required; healthcare or long-term care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to prepare meals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals according to physician orders, therapeutic diets, and standardized recipes.
  • Ensure food is prepared safely and served at proper temperatures.
  • Follow sanitation, food safety, and infection control procedures.
  • Assist with meal preparation, portioning, and food presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with storage and rotation of supplies.
  • Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and team to provide excellent resident service.

Colonial Poplin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and passionate Cook to join our Dietary Services team. This position is responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals while ensuring compliance with sanitation, safety, and dietary guidelines.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Preparing and serving meals in accordance with physician orders, therapeutic diets, and standardized recipes

  • Following all sanitation, food safety, and infection control procedures
  • Assisting with meal preparation, portioning, and food presentation
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas
  • Monitoring food inventory and assisting with proper storage and rotation of supplies
  • Working collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and dietary team to provide excellent service to residents
